Here at DEMI+CO we have always seen a consistent popularity of magnetic bracelets. Magnetic bracelets work by stimulating the magnetic field of wherever your pain is occurring and helps your body to produce natural pain relief. How do magnetic bracelets work for pain?

Research shows that magnets positively help the entire body function properly and accelerate metabolism due to them increasing the production of amino acids. Due to electronics, high rise buildings and other gadgets that are blocking natural exposure, it is believed that we are benefiting less and less from the Earth’s natural magnetism which helps us stay positive and healthy. A good example of the benefits of the Earth’s natural magnetic therapy is that when we are in nature, surrounded by greenery, or the ocean, beach, waterfalls, or fields, we feel a sense of calm, peace and fulfilment. This is magnetic therapy in action, explaining how magnetism can be beneficial, both mentally and physically. This is why magnetic deficiency can be worrying, and why we think it is a good idea to invest in magnetic jewellery in order to still reap these magnetic benefits.

Do magnets reduce inflammation?

Research has shown that there is some truth to the claim that a mild magnetic field can cause the smallest blood vessels in the body to dilate or constrict, therefore increasing the flow of blood and suppressing inflammation due to the more oxygen and nutrients being produced to injured tissue which is a critical factor in the healing process.

Where should magnets be placed for pain?

Magnets for pain are usually encased in a wrap or sold in a product that is placed against the skin near where the pain is felt, for example magnetic bracelets, magnetic rings, or magnets can be used by taping them to your joints and using various magnetic devices such as mattress pads.

Do the magnetic bracelets really work?

One of the theories about how magnetism works with the body is that the fields surrounding the magnetic bracelets stimulate the field where the pain occurs. This is thought to trigger the release of the body's own painkillers, thereby providing natural relief for the person instead of having to take medications over long periods that may have bad side-effects. It is also thought that because metals like iron, zinc and magnesium are essentially components already found in the human body. Magnetism is able to affect them in a way that brings about helpful change at the cellular level; in particularly by impacting on particles in the blood and increasing oxygenation so that circulation is improved, and a person heals quicker. After all, everyoneknows what happens when you put a magnet beside a metal: it attracts it.

Who shouldn't wear magnetic bracelets?

We recommend people who wear an electrical medical device or electrical implant such as pacemaker and those who are pregnant to not wear a magnetic bracelet.

What are the side effects of wearing a magnetic bracelet?

There no side effects of wearing a magnetic bracelet, anyone can wear a magnetic bracelet, even if you don’t have any aches and pains you can still wear a magnetic bracelet as a fashion accessory. How long does it take for a magnetic bracelet to work?

Magnetic bracelets might start to work a few days after wearing it, but most will take a few weeks before you really notice any results. The test was carried out with a placebo group and three parallel groups to see if the magnetic bracelets are effective in pain control. 194 men and women aged 45 to 80 years took part across five general practices. Researchers concluded that pain from osteoarthritis did decrease for the group that used the magnetic bracelets.

We advise that if it is a copper magnetic bracelet then if you can avoid getting it wet or wearing it in the shower.
